A strong launch day is key to building excitement, driving early engagement, and helping your members make the most of their BetterUp experience. Alongside your launch communications, we recommend selecting one or more launch activities to set the stage for success.
Launch Day Options
The right launch activity will depend on the structure of your program and the experience you want to create. You may want to host your own internal kickoff, offer flexible webinar access, or even combine both approaches for maximum impact.
Not sure which approach to take? Hosting your own event gives you the chance to deliver organization-specific context, tie the message to your organization's goals, and make the launch feel relevant and intentional. If you need a fast and flexible option, the BetterUp-led Member Orientation makes it easy to get members started. You can also choose to use both for greater reach and impact.
Option 1: Host Your Own Launch Event
Create a personalized, engaging experience by hosting your own internal launch event or by integrating BetterUp onboarding into an existing meeting. To get you started, we’ve created a template deck that includes ready-to-use slides, a sample agenda, and talking points to introduce BetterUp, the value of coaching and help members understand what to expect. The deck also includes best practices for delivering an engaging session.
Hosting a live session builds excitement and gives members a chance to ask questions and get started with confidence. It can be led by a Program Owner, HR leader, Executive Sponsor, or anyone who can confidently introduce BetterUp, tie it to your organization’s goals. The presenter should also help members understand why your company invested in BetterUp and how it connects to your development culture. If you’d like to take it a step further, consider adding a short testimonial from a previous coaching participant to bring the experience to life. For the best results, schedule the session on the same day or just before members receive their invites so they can activate their accounts right away.
While this session is designed for employees invited to BetterUp, consider also inviting their managers to reinforce program value and drive engagement, or hosting a separate session tailored for them.
Recommended Approach:
- Plan a 30 minute session including time for questions and next steps.
- Customize the template to align with your organization’s language and messaging
- Highlight how BetterUp supports individual growth, which is key to driving organizational success, and aligns with your company’s goals, values, and priorities
- Schedule and promote the event early to encourage participation
Option 2: Leverage BetterUp’s Member Orientation
If you’re looking for a flexible, low-effort way to onboard members, we recommend inviting them to attend a BetterUp-led Member Orientation. These sessions are hosted by BetterUp experts and designed to help members understand the value of coaching, how to get started, and how to make the most of their experience.
Member Orientations are offered multiple times each week across all time zones, giving members the freedom to select a session that fits their schedule. All sessions follow security best practices to ensure participant privacy.
