BetterUp’s Manager Feedback and Whole Person 360 Assessment tools offer members valuable developmental insights from the people they work with. These tools help members deepen self-awareness, identify growth areas, and accelerate their coaching journey. As a program administrator, you play a critical role in enabling successful participation by ensuring these tools are well-configured, clearly communicated, and tracked effectively.

Manager Feedback
Overview
Manager Feedback is a lightweight, structured tool that allows members to request developmental input from their manager. This feedback highlights strengths and areas for growth, giving members a clearer view of how their contributions are perceived in the workplace. It also helps coaches tailor support to align with a member’s real-time workplace context.
Manager Feedback is most often initiated during onboarding or at reflection points. However, it can also be requested ad hoc throughout a member's journey. Only the member and their coach can see the feedback, allowing for safe, reflective coaching conversations.
Assessment Process

Initiation: Members are prompted to invite their manager for feedback during onboarding or reflection points. They can also request feedback anytime by selecting “Grow with Feedback” from their BetterUp homepage.

Sending the Request: The member enters their manager’s contact details and sends the request. The manager receives an email with a secure link to submit feedback via a short, structured form.

Manager Feedback Submission: Reminders are automatically sent to managers if they haven't completed the feedback. Once submitted, the feedback is visible to the member and their coach in the platform.

Optional Follow-Ups: If a manager does not respond, the member can resend the request or nominate another relevant leader.
Whole Person 360 Assessment
Overview
The Whole Person 360 Assessment provides multi-rater feedback based on 15 key behavioral dimensions tied to BetterUp’s Whole Person Model. Members receive feedback from their manager, peers, and/or direct reports, which is compared against their self-assessment. The report offers powerful insights to help members align self-perception with others' perspectives and deepen their coaching experience.
This tool is commonly included as part of the program structure, especially around the midpoint of the coaching journey or during major reflection milestones.
Assessment Process

Initiation: Members access the assessment from the "Up Next" section of their BetterUp homepage when it is scheduled as part of their journey.

Selecting Contributors: Members must select at least three contributors (e.g., manager, peers, direct reports). Contributors receive invitations via email to complete a short feedback survey.

Feedback Collection: Once contributors begin submitting responses, progress is tracked in-platform. At least three completed submissions are required to generate a final report.

Report Delivery: After the feedback threshold is met, the Whole Person 360 report is unlocked. Members and their coach use this report to guide coaching sessions.

Need to Add Contributors? If members need to add contributors after launching the process, they should reach out to BetterUp Support with the new contributors’ names, emails, and roles.
Confidentiality & Visibility

Manager Feedback: Only the member and their coach can see the manager’s submitted feedback.

Whole Person 360: Feedback is anonymized and aggregated. Individual contributor responses are not identified. The report is visible to the member and their coach.
Monitoring Utilization & Completion
As an admin, you can track participation in both tools from the People Analytics Dashboard (PAD) via the downloadable CSV export. Within the export you are able to view:

Difference Between Manager Feedback & the 360
The Manager Feedback takes ~8+ minutes for the manager to complete. The manager is informed that their feedback will help to measure the progress that the member has made through their work with BetterUp and it also helps measure the growth of the manager's team as a whole.
The Whole Personal 360 assessment is a bit more time-intensive and provides members with the ability to garner feedback from manager(s) and peers. A manager's response is required for this report to generate.
For the Whole Person 360 assessment, questions include 60 Whole Person Model (Inspiring) questions, open-ended questions, and subjective team performance questions for the manager and peers (co-workers, direct reports) to answer.
