Messaging Your BetterUp Coach

If you are currently participating in an active company-sponsored BetterUp program or subscription, you can easily message your BetterUp Coach right from your mobile device or desktop! Please note that you must be matched to a coach prior to messaging them. If you are no longer matched with a coach or part of an active BetterUp program or subscription, you will be able to view your past message history, but you will not be able to send a new message.

Additionally, if you are connected with a coach, but do not see the option to message them and need to contact them, please reach out to our Support team for further assistance.

How to Send a Message- Mobile Instructions

You can send a message to your BetterUp Coach from your mobile device by following the instructions provided below:

1. Log in to BetterUp
2. From the Home screen, click the "chat bubble" icon in the upper right corner of your screen
3. Select the BetterUp Coach you would like to message                                                       
   • You must be currently matched to the coach AND part of an active BetterUp program or subscription to send a message 
   • Messaging is not available with coaches outside of your current network                
4. Enter the message you would like to send to your coach within the text box provided
5. Click the "up arrow" icon to send your message                   
6. It will then appear in your chat history                                          

How to Send a Message- Web Browser Instructions

You can send a message to your BetterUp Coach from your web browser by following the instructions provided below: 

1. Log in to BetterUp
2. From the Home screen, click the "chat bubble" Messages icon in the upper right corner of your screen
3. Select the BetterUp Coach you would like to message
   • You must be currently matched to the coach AND part of an active BetterUp program or subscription to send a message 
   • Messaging is not available with coaches outside of your current network
4. Enter the message you would like to send to your coach within the text box provided
5. Click the "up arrow" icon to send your message
6. It will then appear in your chat history

How to Send an Attachment Via Messaging- Mobile Instructions

There may be occasions when you would like to send your BetterUp Coach a file or attachment to discuss in an upcoming coaching session.  You can send a file or attachment via the messaging feature right from your mobile device by following the instructions provided below:

1. Log in to BetterUp
2. From the Home screen, click the "chat bubble" icon in the upper right corner of your screen
3. Select the BetterUp Coach you would like to message
   • You must be currently matched to the coach AND part of an active BetterUp program or subscription to send a message 
   • Messaging is not available with coaches outside of your current network                
4. Enter the message you would like to send to your coach within the text box provided to share details or context regarding the attachment you are sending
5. Click the "up arrow" icon to send your message                 
6. It will then appear in your chat history                  
7. Click the "paper clip" icon to add your attachment             
8. Select the applicable option to search for the file you would like to attach                                                                                     
9. Once you've selected the file it will automatically upload and send
10. You will then see it within your message history

8. Once you've selected the file from your computer, click OK to send it 
9. You will then see it within your message history
