If you would like to use an alternative video platform, you can update your preferred method of contact in your BetterUp account. The alternative contact methods that the BetterUp Video platform supports are phone (US and Canada only), Microsoft Teams, FaceTime, Skype, WebEx, and Zoom.
Once you have updated your preferred method of contact on the BetterUp platform, you will be able to join future sessions using that contact method.
Zoom
To set your preferred method of contact to Zoom, you will need to determine what your Zoom Personal Meeting ID is in Zoom prior to making the changes in your BetterUp account.
To determine your Zoom Personal Meeting ID in Zoom:
- Sign in to your desktop/mobile Zoom client
- From the Home tab, click Schedule
- In the Meeting ID section, view the Personal Meeting ID (be sure to write down the 10-digit number)
To update your preferred contact method in your BetterUp account please do the following:
- Log in to BetterUp and click the avatar in the top right-hand corner
- Click Account
- Scroll down to Contact Information and select Zoom as your preferred method of contact
- Enter your Zoom Meeting ID* (the numeric Personal Meeting ID, e.g "2513032913" is 10 digits long)Note: If your Personal Meeting ID is protected by a passcode we recommend entering the entire Join Zoom Meeting invite link into the Zoom Meeting ID* field rather than your Personal Meeting ID to ensure your coach will be able to access the meeting.
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Save changes
WebEx
- Log in to BetterUp and click your avatar in the top right-hand corner
- Click Account
- Scroll down to Contact Information and select Webex as your preferred method of contact
- Enter your entire WebEx Meeting URL* (This is your meeting room URL, e.g. "https://yourcompany.my.webex.com/meet/yourusername")
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Save changes
FaceTime
- Log in to BetterUp and click your avatar in the top right-hand corner
- Click Account
- Scroll down to Contact Information and select Facetime as your preferred method of contact
- Enter your entire you will be prompted to enter your Apple ID
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Save changes
Please note that Apple devices running iOS 14 or lower can only FaceTime with other Apple devices. Using FaceTime to conduct your sessions will display the phone number associated with that FaceTime account.
As an alternative option to displaying the phone number associated with your FaceTime account, you can choose to display your email instead by following the steps provided below:
- Launch the Settings app from the Home screen of your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad
- Tap on FaceTime
- Under "Caller ID," tap the phone number or email address you'd like to use as your FaceTime Caller ID. The blue checkmark indicates the current email address or phone number that will be displayed when using FaceTime.

Skype
- Log in to BetterUp and click your avatar in the top right-hand corner
- Click Account
- Scroll down to Contact Information and select Skype as your preferred method of contact
- Enter your Skype ID
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Save changes
Microsoft Teams
- Log in to BetterUp and click your avatar in the top right-hand corner
- Click Account
- Scroll down to Contact Information and select Teams as your preferred method of contact.
You may see a note that the meeting URL was saved for you automatically.
If not, enter your personal link in the field shown here:
To receive a personal Microsoft Teams Meeting URL:
- log into Microsoft Teams
- Click Meet Now
- Click Get a link to share
4. Once you've added in your URL, click Save changes
