In order to join BetterUp video sessions, you need to ensure that your browser's camera and microphone settings are enabled. Without these permissions, you won't be able to enter the session. To help you get started, we've put together a set of instructions that will guide you through the process of enabling browser permissions. Additionally, we've included instructions on how to switch between different cameras or microphones during an ongoing session.
Enabling Browser Permissions
Enabling video and audio permissions is necessary if you are accessing the BetterUp Video call platform on your browser for the first time, after updating your browser, or using it in incognito mode. You can easily enable these permissions on your browser by following these simple steps:
- Once you join a session on the platform, you will see the following page. Click Allow.
- Your browser permissions should be enabled
- If your camera or microphone permissions are blocked on your browser, you will see the following page. Click the link on the page to access the browser-specific instructions.
- Please note that the above page will have the URL that you will need when updating your video permissions.

Once you have granted your browser permissions, you will be directed to the waiting room where you can verify if your video and audio setup is working properly. From there, you have the option to switch between your web camera, microphone, or speakers. Moreover, you can make adjustments to your camera and microphone/speakers during the call by following these simple steps:

" next to the microphone icon to switch your microphone/speakers - Simply selecting the preferred device will trigger the change

- In your Google Chrome address bar, go to https://www.betterup.com/
- Click the "lock" icon
- Click Site settings
- Click the drop-down menu next to Camera and ensure Allow is selected
- Click the drop-down menu next to Microphone and ensure Allow is selected
How to Change your Camera/Microphone During a Session
You can adjust your camera and microphone/speakers in the waiting room or during your call. You can do this by following these steps:
