Q: What are Self-Discovery Assessment Resources?
Self-Discovery Assessments (SDAs) are a series of curated assessments paired with a custom feedback report. SDAs are intended to support self-awareness building and progress tracking.
SDAs (currently live in the resource library) measure a wide variety of constructs such as mindfulness, work-life intersection, vocational interest, personality, etc. The full library of SDAs will evolve over time as we examine coach and member needs. Each of the SDAs can be used alone or in combination with one another. We recommend exploring them.
As a preview, you will receive a feedback report at the end of an SDA that is similar to the Onboarding Assessment. The scores range from 5-100. The 5-100 scores are standard scores, calculated by transforming and rescaling a score based on norms derived from a representative sample of individuals in the US population.

Q: What about the Whole Person Assessment?
The Whole Person Assessment isn’t going anywhere! These assessment resources are a complement to the Whole Person and other core BetterUp assessments, and are not intended to replace the WPM. SDAs are intended to raise self-awareness in a targeted way, providing more depth and specificity depending on your interests and needs.

Q: How do I interpret my SDA results?
Please note that SDAs are designed for use both with and without a coach and it is not expected that every coach have knowledge or expertise around any of these resources. We do recognize that BetterUp Member will greatly benefit from a coach’s expertise during interpretation and for determining actionable next steps. You are welcome to connect with your coach to discuss your results during a session. Please be sure to take a screenshot of your results and send them to your coach prior to your session.
Q: Where can I find these SDAs?
You are welcome to explore SDAs on your own by searching for resources on the Discover page. SDAs appear as resources, which means you can search for them using key words and phrases. For quick access, here are the links below:

Q: Will my coach be able to see my results? How can I share my results?
A: At this time this functionality is not available and when you complete an SDA, your coach will not be notified or able to see your results. If you would like to share your results with your coach, the best way to do so would be for you to take a screenshot of the results and send it to your coach via the messages or during the coaching session. We recognize that this is inconvenient and are actively working on a solution that would enable a more seamless result-sharing experience.
